About Us

Verdigris Nursery is a specialist fern nursery located in the foothills of the Clyde Mountain Range, about 25km inland from Batemans Bay, NSW. We are a family owned business, which has been in operation since 2005.

Our Vision

We aim to provide a range of quality ferns to the South Coast and Canberra markets which have been produced locally for local conditions. We specialise in cold tolerant, drought tolerant and landscaping ferns.

Lomaria nuda

This hardy native fern will grow like a small treefern and develop multiple trunks in time, It will tolerate some direct sun providing it is kept moist and will survive temperatures to 0c and less

Struthiopteris spicant

Hardy fern with neat, compact growth habit. Prefers a shady situation in acid soil. Very cold hardy.

Todea barbara

A large fern which can develop massive trunks with multiple crowns. Each crown bears a number of erect, leathery bright green fronds. A large specimen is an impressive sight. Very adaptable, and easily grown in a variety of situations and soils.
