Most commonly grown maidenhair worldwide. Elegant with long gracefully arched fronds of dark green wedge shaped leaflets. Needs good drainage in fairly bright light.
A majestic fern which grows in wet soils usually on the edge of permanent water. Grows from 30cm to 3m depending on conditions. Forms a dense clump of fresh green fronds and is ideal for use in landscaping with water features. In very cold climates, may be deciduous in winter.
Easily established in a moist situation in morning or filtered sun.
Sometimes known as leather woodfern, as it grows naturally in shady woodland. Fronds are dark blue-green, and grow in a tussock. Easily grown in shade.
